This is actually a recipe that I have developed myself over the past year or so, I may not be a precise as some of you would like but I've found that there's really no way to mess up chili.
I N G R E D I E N T S
3 diced carrots
1 diced yellow onion
1 diced hot pepper
3 cloves garlic
olive oil
1 1/2 lb beef
1 1/2 lb ground pork
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 large can black beans
2 large cans diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 packet chili seasoning
chili powder
onion powder
garlic powder
cumin
oregano
salt & pepper
dice your veggies
in a large pot, sautee the carrots, onions, and peppers until soft, then add the garlic
quickly add in your meats so you dont burn the garlic,
i make sure to cook it all through before adding in the canned ingredients.
add in your beans and mix well
i add in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chili seasoning packet
mix it up
and then i stirred in half of the can of tomato paste
pour in the desired amount of water,
i did probably 4 cups of water and wound up using the whole can of tomato paste
extra seasonings to taste
